Volunteers are essential to the successful operation of any non-for-profit agency. At the DUI Victim Center of Kansas, volunteers are viewed as an extension of our staff providing various tasks to assist our work for victims of drunk and impaired drivers. Through their thoughtful gift of time, we are able to improve and maintain the office work, various projects, meet necessary fundraising requirements, and provide community awareness. One of the requirements to maintain government funding for victim services - a crucial portion of our annual budget - is to provide 20% of the total funded project in volunteer hours. Volunteer hours are valued at $7.00 per hour on this grant and save us an average of over $20,000 every year. So, when a person volunteers for the DUI Victim Center of Kansas, they are not only giving of their precious time, but also providing a great savings to our agency.We like to have a good time. Sometimes the work is sad and overwhelming, but we always look forward to seeing our volunteers and share new things with them. As a volunteer for the DUI Victim Center of Kansas, you help with whatever you are able to give by being part of a solution to one of our communities greatest social and economic problems - drunk and impaired driving.
